Enseigne privacy

Who we are

Enseigne is operated by Uncommon Weather LLC. Contact: team@uncommonweather.com. This policy explains what we collect when you use the website and why.

What we collect

If you only browse the map, we load public inspection data and the technical information any website needs to respond (such as a user agent). We do not need an account for official grades.

If you create an account, we store your name, email, and a hashed password, plus session cookies so you stay signed in.

If you write a community review or save a kitchen to your account, we store that content and tie it to your user id.

When you accept these terms, we write an insert-only ledger row: your user id, the Terms and Privacy versions you accepted, the time, your user agent, and, when the Worker can see it, an IP address. We keep old rows when versions change.

Why we collect it

We use this information to run the account, show your reviews, remember saves that need an identity, and keep evidence that you accepted the current Terms and Privacy Policy. We do not sell your personal information.

Where it lives

Account data, sessions, reviews, saves, and the legal-acceptance ledger are stored in Cloudflare D1 bound to the Enseigne Worker. Official inspection grades are fetched from public open-data APIs and are not our private files about you.

How long we keep it

We keep account data while the account exists. Legal-acceptance rows are insert-only and are kept as a record of assent even after a later accept. If you want an account closed, email us at the address above and we will work through what we can delete or retain.

Your choices

You can use the map without an account. You can sign out at any time. You can edit or remove your own community review. Creating an account requires a fresh accept of the current documents; a guest click is not enough once the account exists.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes in a material way, we will bump the Privacy version and ask signed-in users to accept again. Questions: team@uncommonweather.com.
