What these terms are

These Terms of Use describe Enseigne, a consumer website operated by Uncommon Weather LLC. They are written in plain language so you can see how the service works and how we limit our responsibility. They are not a promise that you cannot bring a claim, and they are not a guarantee of how a court would decide a dispute.

The service

Enseigne shows restaurant health-inspection grades published by city and county agencies, and optional community notes from people who create an account. We are not a restaurant, not a health department, and not affiliated with the agencies that publish those grades.

Official grades come from public open data

Posted grades, scores, dates, citations, and related fields come from public open-data sources, including New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles County datasets. Those records can be wrong, incomplete, delayed, or stale. Agencies add, correct, and remove records on their own schedules.

Enseigne does not inspect restaurants. A letter on this site is a copy of what an agency published, not a new inspection we performed.

Community reviews are opinions

If you leave a review, it is your personal opinion — not an official finding. Other people's reviews are theirs. Community notes never replace a posted grade and should not be treated as a health-department conclusion.

No safety warranty

Enseigne does not warrant that a restaurant is safe, clean, open, correctly graded, or a good place to eat. Do not treat this site as medical, legal, or public-health advice. Decide where to eat using your own judgment.

Your account

An Enseigne account is optional. You can browse official map grades without one. To create an account you must accept the current Terms and Privacy Policy. You must be old enough to form a contract where you live. Keep your password to yourself.

Do not post unlawful, harassing, impersonating, or misleading content. We may remove a review or close an account that breaks these rules.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Uncommon Weather LLC is not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Enseigne or from relying on grades or reviews.

If we are liable for a claim relating to the service, that liability is limited to the amount you paid us for Enseigne in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty-five U.S. dollars if you paid nothing. Some places do not allow these limits. If that applies to you, some of this section may not apply.

This section does not take away rights the law says you cannot waive.

Changes

If we make a material change, we will bump the Terms or Privacy version and ask you to accept again before you keep using a signed-in account. Older acceptances stay in our records. We do not treat continued browsing by itself as acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, USA, where Uncommon Weather LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Oklahoma may hear disputes except where the law requires otherwise.
